My Bio

I draw original art that is more or less related to the world of my webcomic. I draw because I like - and have always liked - drawing and writing stories, and it's the one thing in life I'm never going to give up. For now I'm aiming at brushing up my skills.

Some characteristics typical of what I draw:

- original characters (humans, animals, and animals not existing in real life)

- plants

- wafuku, from time to time

Constructive feedback is always welcome! ^_^

As for the webcomic, it's an ongoing work (of a slow update pace) with a potentially misleading name “ΔS”>> ("Delta S is much greater than", though it has next to nothing to do with thermodynamics), which I write both in English and in Japanese. The story is a mixture of several different genres. But if I had to choose just one, I would say it's ’contemporary fantasy’ with just a few fantasy elements.

Brushes - 2019

0 min read
I started making my own Clip Studio Paint brushes this summer, and it has been quite fun. Since I have made a few of them by now, I thought that I'd introduce them all (or at least the ones I like) in a post. 1. Terijoensalava (willow) brush This is the first brush I made. 2. Mountain ash & mountain ash berries brushes This brush (the leaf one, not berries) is currently my favourite ^_^ 3. Fallen leaves (mountain ash & willow) brushes These brushes in themselves are quite simple... ... but you can always circumvent this by rotating the drawing and by using the free transformation tool. 4. Rain brush and spruce brush An examp

Another selection of artworks I like very much. I compiled this by browsing through my Favorites folder. (It has been a few months since the last feature I made... It seems I can't really get about anything done if I don't do it in an orderly and planned manner ^_^; Hence, I created a text file for planning these features.) This time I selected artworks that depict plants and have light red (pink) and/or light blue colors in them.

In this post I (try to) describe how I draw broadleef trees, using the willow below as an example. 1. Studying First of all, I study the subject I want to draw. If its a certain tree species, I find photos of that tree and study it by making sketches of the whole tree, branches, andleaves.Several of each, from different angles. This helps me to get grasp of the tree's structure and features. (Is this a necessary step, then? Maybe, maybe not. It depends on what you already know, and also on how realistic you would like the tree to be. If you already know the basic structure of a tree, and it doesn't have to be an actual tree species, you may
